What we have learned about AI in a year.
Our FinEduAI project has been aiming at familiarising high school teachers and students with AI and its applications. In addition, we have been looking into the possibilities of AI as an integral part of creating individual paths of learning, as well as developing more learner-specific assessment and counseling. The teachers and the students that are participating in the project have already been collecting valuable data, using Nirone sensors, to teach AI, and they have tailored the process of this data collection to meet the needs of high school studies.
Speech recognition and wave spectrometers
Speech recognition technology-related devices, such as Alexa, have also been an important part of spoken language learning and when searching for information online using voice commands. Those involved in the project have also established a dynamic AI network with various project partners, such as Spectral Engines Oy, Almerin Ltd, Finnish National Defence University, JYU, and Oy Gustav Paulig Ab. Consequently, with the help of our domestic and foreign partners, high schools are already more prepared to face the future of the machine learning world and its challenges.
Educational advantages
Moreover, we are constantly striving to make more use of AI and its applications, so that, in the near future, students would benefit from having even more personalized learning experiences during their high school studies. In this video, you can see and hear what students and teachers and our Finnish educational leaders are looking for from the AI field,
Project in nutshell
In the FinEduAI project, new artificial intelligence will be created in high schools with the help of Finnish AI experts. Teachers and students, together with project partners, develop artificial intelligence solutions tailored to the needs of high school students that support better learning path design according to individual tendencies and more effective assessment of learning. With the help of our domestic and foreign partners, high schools are more prepared to face the future of the machine learning world and its challenges and skills. The experience of high schools as a tool for learning and evaluating artificial intelligence is shared with other school levels.
